Jasmine - it has been a delight to have you in our Media lessons. You are clearly enjoying the subject as your blog is up to date and engaging. We hope this passion and commitment continues throughout the course. It is brilliant to see that you are now completing the extension tasks to increase your chances of achieving a top grade. Well done for also taking the initiative to create revision flash cards too.

EBI:

There are areas on your blog which are lacking in detail and depth. For example the Audience Reception theory (Harry Brown) and Audience Effects theory (Blue Planet 2 trailer) blogs need extended paragraphs. Adding this extra bit of detail can make all the difference in achieving a top grade. It would also be lovely to see you contribute more regularly during class discussions - I feel like the class would really benefit from hearing your ideas and opinions.

I think that the most difficult topic we have covered so far has been Demographics and Psychographics because, in my opinion, it has contained the most content which means it is harder to take in everything we need to know. However, it has not been extremely difficult and it was particularly interesting to learn about.

  Summer Project: Coursework Planning 1) a. Narrative and genre: it is a revelation scene where Lord Asriel and Mrs Coulter discuss the fear they have inflicted upon the children of their world and the destruction they have caused. Mrs Coulter is Lyra's mother and has created machines capable of tearing children apart by separating them from their Daemons. Lyra's father informs her that it is not right and needs to be ended. It fits the fantasy genre due to the mention of multiple worlds, as well as Daemons and angels. The narrative is communicated through the dialogue between both characters.  Technical codes: many shots are used to represent Lord Asriel's superiority and Mrs Coulter's inferiority. A low shot is used to depict the former's power over her, and to show him as the stronger person in this situation. Doctor Who: Audience and Industries Audience: 1) The target audience was predominantly white, British males in the UK. However, it has changed because there is a wider variety of people who enjoy the show and are fans (Whovians). For example, there are many international fans and a wider diversity of people from different backgrounds.  2)  Personal Identity : The audience may be able to relate to the teenagers or teachers because they reflect typical society at the time; they may be able to relate to the ordinary life of the characters. Personal Relationships : The audience may form personal connections if they can relate to the characters or identify with the backgrounds of the characters, such as the teachers or Susan.  Diversion (Escapism ): The audience may find escapism within the show as it has elements of sci-fi which could distract the audience from their day-to-day lives.  Surveillance (Information/Facts) : The show is science-fiction so it can provide information on time/spac
